Okay, so yesterday I was messing around with the new F1 24 game, right? Wanted to see if I could actually get a decent Imola setup going. Imola’s a tricky track, always has been.
First thing I did was hop into a time trial. No assists, just me and the car. I needed to get a feel for the default setup and where it was lacking. Right away, the car felt super unstable, especially in the high-speed corners like Piratella and Acque Minerali. Lots of oversteer, which is fun sometimes, but not when you’re trying to shave off tenths.
Aero Adjustments:

- I started by tweaking the wings. Bumped the front wing up a couple of notches and lowered the rear wing slightly. The goal was to balance the car out a bit and reduce that rear-end wiggle.
Suspension Tweaks:
- Next up, suspension. I softened the front suspension and stiffened the rear a bit. This helps with turn-in and keeps the rear planted under acceleration.
- Ride height is crucial at Imola, there’s a couple of big kerbs. I raised the front ride height slightly to avoid bottoming out.
Transmission Settings:
- I shortened the gears a little bit to improve acceleration out of the slow corners like Tosa and Tamburello.
Brake Bias:
- Moved the brake bias slightly forward. This helps with rotation into the corners and reduces the chance of locking up the rear wheels under braking.
After each adjustment, I ran a few more laps to see how it felt. It was a process of trial and error, honestly. Sometimes I’d make a change that made things worse, and I’d have to revert back and try something else.
Eventually, I got to a point where the car felt pretty good. Still a bit edgy, but manageable. I was able to consistently run faster lap times than with the default setup.
I’m still tweaking it, to be honest. A setup is never truly “done,” especially with track and weather variations. But this is a solid starting point for anyone looking to improve their lap times at Imola in F1 24.
I’ll probably keep messing with it over the next few days, so if I find anything else that works well, I’ll be sure to update you guys.
